Junior Volunteer & High School Internships
You are cordially invited to join the NVRH volunteer team. To begin the process, you apply below and call Pat Forest, Director of Volunteer Services at 802-748-7310 to schedule an appointment. Individuals will be asked to participate in a interview. If selected to become a member of the NVRH volunteer team, you will then receive training and orientation in the designated area of interest or availability. Volunteers age 15 to 17 will be provided orientation and training. Fourteen-year-old students are accepted in limited and need-based roles.

Auxiliary Scholastic Achievement Awards
The NVRH Auxiliary gives five Scholastic Achievement Awards to deserving students pursuing a career in healthcare. First year students can apply for one of two $1,000 awards and third and fourth year students can apply for one of three $2,500 awards. The Auxiliary has given $101,500 in scholastic achievement awards since 2001. Eligible students are high school students, current college students, and adults returning to college.

In May 2025, the following local students received Scholastic Achievement Awards from the NVRH Auxiliary: Erin Langlais, West Burke – $2,500 – Simmons College, BSN, Kaylee McCaffrey, Lyndon – $2,500 – University of Vermont, Radiation Therapy, Emma Montgomery, Sheffield – $2500 – Husson University, Physical Therapy, Madalyn Atkinson, Peacham – $1,000 – University of Vermont, Radiation Therapy, and Julia Legendre, St. Johnsbury – $1,000 – College of the Holy Cross, Cardiothoracic Surgery
