STJA Student Donates Gowns for Children at NVRH

ST. JOHNSBURY, VT (June 5, 2023) – (Left) Director of Perioperative Services Pete Tomczyk, RN accepts pediatric gowns from St. Johnsbury Academy student Erin Langlais on May 11, 2023. As part of her senior Capstone project, Langlais researched different non-pharmaceutical methods to minimize preoperative anxiety in children. Langlais’ childhood experiences in hospitals inspired her to create and then donate bright patterned surgical gowns to local pediatric patients at NVRH. Now, children at NVRH will get to choose their own surgical gown. Albert Fisher, CRNA; Deane Rankin, MD and Pete Tomczyk, RN advised Langlais throughout the project.
