ST. JOHNSBURY, VT (August 22, 2025) – Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) has released the August – December 2025 edition of its HealthyChoices newsletter, featuring affordable local community wellness programs, seasonal activities, and mental health support resources.

While there’s still a chill in the air, longer, brighter days are a good reminder that it’s time to start thinking about getting outdoors. Whether you’re looking for organized activities like a walking group or healthy heart classes, local hiking trails to explore, or low-cost activities for kids, the new edition of HealthyChoices is packed with ideas and resources to help you and your family get the fall season off to a healthy start

“For a lot of us, September feels like New Year’s,” says NVRH Community Health Resource Center Coordinator Mary Maurer. “The weather’s cooler, kids are back in school—it’s an energizing time to try something new.”

The August – December 2025 HealthyChoices includes listings for free or low cost outdoor activities from the Caledonia Trails Collaborative to places toNVRH-HealthyChoices-Sept-Dec 2025-web bike or play disc golf, NVRH-sponsored programs, kids’ activities, community partner programs, local food access information, support groups and mental health resources. It is mailed directly to community members and is also available at nvrh.org.
