Upcoming Death Café at the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum
ST. JOHNSBURY, VT (August 29, 2024) – Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) and the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum invite the public to attend an upcoming Death Café – a free discussion about death (and life) – at the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum on Wednesday, Sept. 4 at 6:30 p.m.
The objective of a Death Café is to increase awareness of death while also gaining perspective on how to best live. Rather than a grief support or counselling session, Death Cafés offer the opportunity for participants to engage in small conversations – while enjoying cake. There is no set agenda or planned theme.
“Death is another part of life, of living, and when we are able to talk about it with curiosity, we may find that we can live more fully,” NVRH Chaplain Abby Pollender said.
“We would love for you to join us at the library for this interesting and engaging event,” St. Johnsbury Athenaeum Coordinator of Library Services Adele West-Fisher said. “Death Cafes offer inspirational dialogues around death and dying that I think are important and valuable to everyone.”
There is no registration or sign-up required. For more information, contact Adele West-Fisher at the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum at 802-748-8291.
