A Celebration of Local Creativity & Talent
High School Students show their art at NVRH Gallery

St. Johnsbury, VT — January 23, 2025 — The Hanna and Charles Gray Gallery at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is proud to announce the opening of the High School Art Show – a Celebration of Creativity & Talent – a vibrant exhibition showcasing the artistic talents of students from St. Johnsbury Academy and Lyndon Institute. The show runs from January 16 to March 10, 2025, and features an inspiring collection of works illustrating the varied creativity nurtured within these esteemed local institutions.

Creative works from St. Johnsbury Academy
The St. Johnsbury Academy Fine Arts Department offers an expansive curriculum designed to cultivate technical skills and foster creativity, preparing students for careers in the arts and other fields that value innovative thinking. Courses range from Foundations of Drawing and Photography to Fashion Design and Oil Painting, alongside advanced options such as AP Art and the Visual Art Capstone. Students benefit from professional instruction by practicing artists and performers, as well as state-of-the-art facilities in the Charles Hosmer Morse Center for The Arts.

Multi-media arts from Lyndon Institute
Lyndon Institute’s Fine Arts Program is equally dedicated to artistic excellence, offering courses such as Graphic Design, Ceramics, Printmaking, and AP Art. With access to the Norris Center for the Arts and cutting-edge technology, Lyndon Institute students gain hands-on experience and college-level preparation through programs like Career and Technical Education (CTE) in Graphic Design. Students regularly excel in local and national art competitions, demonstrating their skill and passion for the visual arts.

This year’s High School Art Show presents an extraordinary celebration of creativity, showcasing a wide array of mediums and styles. Visitors can expect to see intricate drawings, colorful paintings, innovative digital designs, and stunning photography. The exhibit offers an opportunity to highlight the collaborative efforts of the school instructors who guide and inspire their students, including:

The High School Art Show is a testament to the thriving artistic youth community within Vermont and the dedication of educators in fostering creativity in their students. The public is invited to attend the exhibit and experience the remarkable work of these young artists. Admission is free, and the gallery is open to visitors during regular hours.
