HealthyChoices highlights free and low-cost public wellness programs
ST. JOHNSBURY, VT (April 22, 2025) – Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) has released the April – August edition of its HealthyChoices newsletter, featuring affordable local community wellness programs, seasonal activities, and mental health support resources.
The longer, brighter days are a good time to start thinking about getting more active. Whether you’re looking for organized activities like a walk-and-talk group or a fitness class, local hiking trails to explore, or low-cost ideas for family fun, the new edition of HealthyChoices is packed with ideas and resources to help you and your family get a head start on spring and summer.
“It’s a great time to try new activities and habits,” says Community Health Worker Supervisor Deborah Locke-Rousseau. “HealthyChoices is a resource we use ourselves to connect people to everything from support groups to making more nutritious food choices,” Samantha, our Community Health Worker checks all of the resources to make sure they are up to date and fresh for this summer edition!”
The April – August 2026 issue of HealthyChoices includes listings for local outdoor activities from the Caledonia Trails Collaborative to mountain biking and disc golf, programs sponsored by NVRH and other community partners, kids’ activities, local food access information, support groups and mental health resources.
