NVRH and Umbrella Present Virtual Presentation on Youth Cannabis Use
ST. JOHNSBURY, VT (June 8, 2022) – Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) and Umbrella are excited to announce a virtual presentation on the impacts of youth cannabis use on June 29, 2022, 6 – 7:00 p.m. This presentation will give parents and caregivers the tools necessary to recognize the signs and symptoms of youth cannabis use, understand protective factors, learn the importance of safe storage and more.
“With the retail sale of cannabis coming to Vermont, it is important for adults to understand how to mitigate the risk for youth,” NVRH Director of Substance Misuse Cheryl Chandler said.
The presentation will be led by Robert Rogers, LADC. Rogers has been working with youth and families throughout Somerset and Kennebec Counties since 1994. Currently, Rogers works for Kennebec Behavioral Health as Director of Substance Use Prevention and Grant Services and works with Somerset Public Health as the Drug Free Communities Program Coordinator.
This presentation is made possible thanks to the New England Prevention Technology Transfer Center program and is a collaboration between the Northeast Kingdom Prevention Center of Excellence (NEK-PCE) and three community coalitions: the ONE Prevention Coalition in Newport, the Northeast Prevention Coalition in St. Johnsbury and the 302 Cares Coalition in Wells River.
