NVRH Seeks Volunteers for New Advisory Council

by | Dec 29, 2023 | In the News

ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (December 29, 2023) – Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is seeking volunteers to serve on its new Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC).

Community members looking to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to enhance the quality and experience of care delivered to families, friends and neighbors will be able to do just that: PFAC members empower staff, patients, and families through advocacy and informed change. Objectives include promoting patient and family advocacy and utilizing feedback to inform change and increasing patient and family involvement in care.

“As a community healthcare system, we value the voice of our patients in all that we do,” NVRH Patient Experience Officer Jillian Knight said. “The PFAC is an additional opportunity for patients, family members, caregivers and staff to provide real-time feedback on improvement initiatives and change projects that impact the patient experience.”

Members who have the most impact have strong interpersonal skills, respect for diversity and differing opinions, open communication with other council members and guests and interest in partnering with a diverse group of staff, patients and families to improve healthcare.

To learn more about the roles and responsibilities of PFAC membership, visit nvrh.org/pfac or contact Jillian Knight at 802-748-7421 or ji.knight@nvrh.org.
