ST. JOHNSBURY, Vt. (January 10, 2024) – Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) and Northern Physical Therapy (NPT) invite community members to attend Empowered Relief, a free one-time session to learn pain-relief skills that can be used right away, on Wednesday, January 24, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. via Zoom.

Physical therapists Mykala Wiswell, DPT and Krista Laramee, DPT will run the class.

“I wish my doctor told me about this class on day one,” Janice, a former participant said. “Finally I have tools to manage my pain.”

This session may be a good place to start for participants who are looking to learn more about pain and what they can do to help themselves. Not only will they gain pain-relief skills, they will also receive a free binaural relaxation audio file and they will create a personal plan for managing their pain relief.

“We hope this session provides individuals with a different tool to manage pain with the latest pain science,” NPT Manager Lindsay O’Steen said. “At NPT we try to provide our community with various ways to manage chronic pain, as it is an issue that affects many.”

The class will take place online via Zoom. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP for the link by emailing Krista Laramee, DPT at k.laramee@nvrh.org.
