Meg Morrow Clayton’s Colors of My World Opens at The Charles M. and Hanna H. Gray Gallery at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital
Artist, Meg Morrow Clayton, shares her colorful textile and watercolor art at the NVRH Charles M. and Hanna H. Gray gallery through January 13, 2025
ST. JOHNSBURY, VT (November 25, 2024) – The Charles M. and Hanna H. Gray Gallery at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is excited to present Colors of My World, a solo exhibition by artist Meg Morrow Clayton. Running from November 21, 2024, to January 13, 2025. This vibrant collection showcases Clayton’s exploration of color and texture through her unique journey from fiber arts to watercolor.
Clayton’s artistic career began with fiber arts, where she mastered spinning, dyeing, and weaving, transforming raw fiber into textured, colorful cloth. With the onset of the pandemic, Clayton discovered watercolor, which introduced her to new possibilities in working with color and form. “The expressive fluidity of watercolor contrasts with the mechanical precision of fiber arts,” she explains, “yet both satisfy my desire to capture and interpret the colors, textures, and nuances of the world around me.”
Inspired by animals, seascapes, and village scenes, Clayton’s work brings color to life through the dynamic interactions of water and pigment, creating a vibrant world on paper. Each piece captures the artist’s fascination with the natural world and her commitment to exploring color in fresh, captivating ways.
Colors of My World invites viewers to experience this artistic journey, and visitors are encouraged to inquire at the NVRH Information Desk regarding pricing. Twenty-five percent of proceeds from sales will benefit the hospital, allowing each purchase to support both the arts and the community.
Colors of My World will be on display at The Charles M. and Hanna H. Gray Gallery located on the hospital’s main floor. This exhibit will be on display until January 13, 2025. You may also view a short video of the exhibit on the Charles M. and Hanna H. Gray Gallery webpage at nvrh.org. Some Paintings are for sale and a portion of the proceeds benefit the NVRH.
