What do Occupational Therapy Practitioners do?
Occupational Therapy Practitioners (OTR/Ls) work with patients of all ages to improve their quality of life through assistance and training in activities of daily living. OTs work with people recovering from injury or coping with cognitive changes by adapting challenging tasks to fit the person’s needs by assessing for modifications and adaptive equipment needs. The goal of an Occupational Therapist is to enable people to live their life to the fullest with treatments focused in a holistic approach.
Tiffany Benoit, OTR/L performs these therapeutic services in Dan Wyand, PT’s NVRH inpatient department, as well as in the outpatient department on Sherman Drive. In addition, Tiffany is trained in splint fabrication for hands, wrists, and elbows.
