ST. JOHNSBURY, VT (June 25, 2025) – NVRH received a donation of 80 blankets from Saint J Subaru, which partnered with The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) as part of the Subaru Loves to Care program, on Tuesday, June 23.
LLS is a nonprofit dedicated to combating blood cancers. Their mission, supported by nearly $1.6 billion in research, is to improve the quality of life of patients and their families by searching for a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. This is the 10th consecutive year that Subaru has partnered with LLS, and together they have supported over 500,000 cancer patients.
Employees of Saint J Subaru delivered the boxes of blankets to the main entrance at NVRH and spent time visiting with staff and hearing about the positive impact that the donations have on patients. Included with the blankets were messages of hope written by local Subaru customers and staff during June, Subaru’s Loves to Care Month.

NVRH Director of Med-Surg Samantha Gale appreciates the impact the blankets and notes of encouragement have on patients and hospital staff.
“We’re deeply grateful to Subaru and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for the generous donation of the pillow blankets,” she said. “These thoughtful gifts bring comfort not only to our patients but also to the nurses who have the privilege of offering that comfort. Your kindness truly makes a difference in the care we provide every day.”
Blankets and cards will be distributed throughout the year to patients in NVRH’s Med-Surg and Emergency departments.
