Sarah Allison McCabe (Alli) is a Certified Physician Assistant, Registered Respiratory Therapist-Neonatal Pediatric Specialist who works in the Pulmonary Clinic at NVRH. Alli is from the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA and attended West Chester University of Pennsylvania graduating with a Bachelor’s of Science in Respiratory Care. Within her first year post graduation, she became a Certified Respiratory Therapist and further advanced to a Registered Respiratory Therapist and obtained a Neonatal-Pediatric Specialty certification. She worked full time at Lankenau Medical Center, on the edge of West Philadelphia, for 7.5 years holding 2 per diem positions (Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and Phoenixville Hospital.) While at Lankenau, she worked in critical care (medical ICU, surgical ICU, cardiothoracic ICU and neonatal ICU) as well as the emergency department, which included Level II trauma. She worked alongside a wonderful group of pulmonologists and pulmonary fellows partaking in daily rounds and countless bedside procedures.

Alli chose to advance her career and education by obtaining her Master’s of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. She attended Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT and was chosen as the ambassador of her program to attend the first clinical rotation in global medicine in Seville, Spain. She enjoyed her surgical rotations while in PA school, specifically orthopedic trauma where she had the opportunity to observe and learn from orthopedic surgeons from HSS in New York, New York. Alli traveled to the NEK for a weekend mountain biking trip and fell in love with the area. In 2020, she took a position at NVRH in the Orthopedic Clinic, which she enjoyed, but soon realized she missed her Pulmonary roots. She joined the Pulmonary Clinic at NVRH in 2022. Since joining Pulmonary, Alli has attended ultrasound training with the Society of Critical Care of Medicine and is credentialed in Critical Care Point of Care Ultrasound.

When she is not at work Alli is with her dogs either riding her bike, skiing or hiking.
