ST. JOHNSBURY, VT (September 1, 2026) – The Charles M. and Hanna H. Gray Gallery at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is hosting a new exhibit, “NJB’Z Kreative Khaos,” by Newark painter Nancy Bushey.
Bushey’s interest in art began at a young age, when she casually explored a variety of mediums, including oils, acrylics, chalk, and pencils. Several years ago, she was introduced to abstract art and quickly became fascinated by the freedom of different painting techniques, the movement of color, and the unexpected results that emerge through the creative process.
Bushey finds abstract art both challenging and rewarding and affectionately describes her style as “Mizfit Art,” embracing imperfections as part of the creative process. Through her distinctive “pour painting,” she allows colors to flow freely across the canvas, often discovering shapes, movement, and images as the paint develops. From there, she may creatively blend fantasy with reality, bringing those forms to life. Other times, she allows the piece to remain abstract, leaving its meaning entirely to the imagination and interpretation of the viewer.
Retired in 2025, Bushey lives in Newark, Vermont, with her husband of 30 years, Stephen. She creates and shares her artwork under the name NJB’z Kreative Khaos, a fitting reflection of the color, spontaneity, and creativity found throughout her work.
Bushey’s work will be on display at The Charles M. and Hannah H. Gray Gallery located on the hospital’s main floor through October 12, 2026. 25% of all sales from the exhibit will directly benefit NVRH and its mission to provide exceptional care to our community.
