Long-time Ophthalmologist Ted Houle, MD retired after practicing for 41 years at Eye Associates in St. Johnsbury. He had performed thousands of surgeries at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital and was an active member of the Medical Staff. Mark Price, MD and President of the Medical Staff and Paul Bengtson, CEO remarked about how deeply appreciative they are of his many years of service to the hospital as well as the people of the Northeast Kingdom. “He will certainly be missed,” said Paul Bengtson. “We are grateful for his years of surgical expertise as well as his thoughtful and considerate presence on the Medical Staff.”
Houle received his MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and he arrived in the Northeast Kingdom directly after finishing his residency at the University of Colorado.
Houle is only leaving his medical/surgical life. He is an avid cyclist and traveler and has no plans to stop or slow down.
