Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital is pleased to announce that Terri L. Schoolcraft, Certified Public Accountant has recently been hired as the Accounting Manager at the hospital. Schoolcraft was most recently the Finance Director at Downs, Rachlin, Martin, PLLC. Prior to DRM, she worked at Weidmann Electrical Technologies for 8 years, and prior to that, was at Cabot Creamery for 15 years.
Schoolcraft grew up in Hardwick, and graduated from Hazen Union High School where she found her accounting classes fun and a natural fit. She went on to earn an Associate in Science Degree in Accounting at Champlain College in 1983, and a BS degree in Business Administration from the University of Vermont in 1987.
Terri has overseen many different accounting projects: implementing numerous software programs, managing inventory and cost reporting for multiple locations. Additionally, she has had years of experience managing employees, including oversight of all accounting functions during a significant growth period for a local company. One of her favorite areas is cost accounting and margin analysis which allows for reporting on areas that could use change or improvement.
She is very pleased to be at NVRH, and has been warmly welcomed by the staff. “I’m enjoying the work and the environment very much. I’d always heard that it’s a great place to work, and now I know first hand.”
Bob Hersey, Chief Financial Officer said of Terri, “I am delighted to have Terri on board as our Accounting Manager. She brings a tremendous amount of knowledge in the areas of finance and accounting, as evidenced by her Certified Public Accounting credentials. She also brings experience from various diverse industries that she is already applying here, while quickly learning the complexities of health care finance. She is a real asset.”
Terri is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Schoolcraft and her husband, Dean, have lived in Peacham for 26 years. Their son Patrick is a senior at St. Johnsbury Academy, while their daughter Danielle, works at St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab. Dean and Terri enjoy snowshoeing, spending time with their children, and their golden retriever, Beau.
