Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital is pleased to announce that Dr. Anne M. O’Connor has joined the staff of the Women’s Wellness Center. She is a board certified physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her special clinical interests include high risk obstetrics, adolescent gynecology and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Dr. O’Connor is accepting new patients; please call 748-7300 for an appointment.
Prior to coming to NVRH, Dr. O’Connor practiced medicine in northern New Mexico and southern New Hampshire, most recently at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Clinic in Manchester, NH.
Dr. O’Connor, a native of Boston, Massachusetts, has had a varied and longstanding background in healthcare. She worked as a nurse in medical oncology and clinical research prior to attending the University of New Mexico Medical School, from which she graduated in 1997. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH in 2001.
Dr. Elaine Paul, Medical Director of the Women’s Wellness Center is very pleased with the arrival of Dr. O’Connor. “She’s a tremendous asset to our team and department. Her wisdom, life knowledge and medical knowledge are all very beneficial to both the hospital and our community.”
Dr. O’Connor has commented that “I was attracted to the Women’s Wellness Center because of the professionalism and collaboration among the physicians, midwives and nurses. I was struck by both the pride that the NVRH staff exhibited in their hospital and their sense of being part of the hospital’s mission – it’s evident the minute that you walk through the door. It seemed like a great community in which to practice.”
In her off-hours, Dr. O’Connor enjoys cross country skiing, kayaking and attending musical performances. This spring she was excited to have her first sugaring season with her neighbors.
